9.1 EMERGENCY PLAYERS
(a) An emergency is any player not listed on the team sheet
and must be registered on the day of her first match by
recording her first name and family name on the score card
and in the message/extra registration section of the online
mail form. Failure to comply with this rule will result in loss
of games. It is the responsibility of the Home Team captain
to ensure that the correct information is entered when
submitting the online Mail Form. Failure to do so will incur
a ten dollar ($10.00) fine.
(b) All previous playing experience must be given when
registering players or emergencies. The Committee
reserves the right to refuse registration and to disallow
points for lack of information given when registering player
or emergency.
(c) An emergency player shall not strengthen the team in
which she plays in any section except SECTION 1. The
standard of all emergencies must be acceptable to the
Executive Committee. Should any emergency be proven
unacceptable said emergency would be deemed ineligible
and lose all her sets to love.
(d) Two complete match results for an emergency in any
one team then membership and eligibility for finals to be
automatic unless notified by the F.T.G. & D.L.W.T.A. that the
emergency’s scores indicate otherwise. Or, in the case of a
wash-out or a heat-out being declared after the emergency
has taken the court, the incomplete result to be counted as
one of the two complete results required. Where clubs
have two teams graded in one section, emergencies may
interchange until they have played two complete matches
in either team.
(e) No emergency may play in a Semi-Final or Final match in
a lower grade than she has played in Home and Away
matches.
9.2 EMERGENCY POOL PLAYERS
(a) All Emergency Pool players must be financial members
of a club affiliated with FTG & DLWTA and be registered
with the Emergency Pool Secretary before the
commencement of each season, unless otherwise
sanctioned by the Committee. Emergency Pool Players will
be given a Wednesday and /or Thursday personal grade.
The executive committee shall have the right to re-grade
pool emergencies during the season. Name of the
Emergency Pool player must be entered on the scorecard
and in the message/extra registration section of the online
mail form, along with an (EP) entered after their name in
the team list, each time they play. Failure to comply with
this rule will result in loss of games. It is the responsibility
of the Home Team Captain to ensure the correct
information is entered when submitting the online Mail
Form. Failure to do so will incur a ten dollar ($10.00) fine.
(b) Emergency Pool players may play as many times as
necessary in their personal grade or above for any team or
club in the competition. Prior to using any pool
emergencies a request for eligible players must be made to
the Emergency Pool Secretary each time a player is to be
used. Any bookings made must be confirmed with the
Emergency Pool Secretary, as soon as possible prior to
play. Failure to do so will incur a loss of games.
(c) In order to be eligible to play in finals matches,
Emergency Pool players must have played 2 matches (with
any team or club) during the current season. A request
must be made to the Emergency Pool Secretary prior to
using any pool emergencies in finals. Refer to 9.2 (b) for
correct procedure.
(d) Players who nominate to be in the Wednesday and/or
Thursday Emergency Pool must not play as an ‘Emergency’
for any Wednesday and/or Thursday team independently
of the Emergency Pool. This will result in loss of games.
10. SUBSTITUTE PLAYER
(a) In the event of a player becoming incapacitated whilst
playing, the set is to be forfeited to the opposing team, but
the games already scored by the defaulting player count
and a substitute may then be played for the remaining
sets. Name of substitute must be entered on the scorecard
and the online Mail Form.
(b) Any substitute player taking part in a match MUST IN
NO WAY contravene any section of Rule 8. If a substitute is
not available immediately after such accident or illness, the
sets shall be continued in the order of Rule 2b, leaving out
those for which the substitute is awaited.
(c) If a substitute is not available within 45 minutes of the
incapacitation, the Club will be considered not to have
scored any further games in the match which the player
had to discontinue and to have lost any remaining sets to
love.
